Laura Mazza, a mom of two from Melbourne, has recently shared a photo collage of herself before and after giving birth, and it has resonated with many women out there. On the left, you can see her body before kids, while on the right she shows off her post-partum self. Before Laura became a mother, she used to think she could only love herself if she was skinny, so she was on a constant diet and, yes, skinny, but she wasn’t happy at all. Not only couldn’t she eat what she wanted, she still didn’t love herself even if she could pull off the most flattering outfits. But then motherhood happened and it changed everything.
“On the left – This was my body before kids,” Laura writes on Facebook. “No stretch marks. A belly button that was high. A flat stomach. On the right is me now. People don’t want to see this photo. It’s not pleasing to the eye anymore. It’s not a body to be admired. But you know what? I have achieved more with this body, then I have with my old body. I’ve lived more, I’ve given more, I’ve enjoyed more. I’ve made life. This body, THIS body should be celebrated and admired. No matter what size you are, a size 6 or size 60. You deserve to celebrate it.” We couldn’t agree more!
