In addition to the length of the trip, the ladders can be quite dangerous. According to the villagers, the ladders are as old as the community, meaning they’ve been there for hundreds of years
The village used to have an elevator but it cost too much money to run
Luckily, uproar over the students’ commute has now brought promise of government action
