Here’s What Happens When Bookstore Employees Get Bored

When we try to think of the worst jobs possible, most people go right to shit. As in, “It could be worse, I could be shoveling shit for a living!” or “At least we’re not working in the sewers! In shit!” But the worst jobs aren’t connected to specific jobs or industries at all, they are situations. Situations that any of us could wind up in, and more often than not, we don’t even realize that we are in one already.

Feeling bored at work is one of those situations and it’s pretty much the worst. I’ve had jobs that were so mindless, I seriously thought I was at risk of having a boredom-induced heart attack. And while a bookstore might sound like the world’s most magical place to work in, I know from experience that stocking shelves and organizing books isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. Employees of the “Librairie Mollat” in France, however, came up with a brilliant solution to fight boredom. After noticing how their customers and themselves resemble their books, they started snapping photos of book covers that fit uncannily well into frames of everyday life, especially when they mirror the people holding them. Soon after, some of the photos ended up on Instagram and people are loving it! The Mollat Instagram page has attracted over 21k followers who are hooked to the witty pictures already.
